I heard about Blog Rush right after it was launched by internet marketing guru John Reese. However the first month was a disappointment not only for me but also a lot of bloggers all around the world.

John Reese announced Phase 2 of Blogrush with significantly improved reporting, stats and overall appearance. Finally, the changes came, but what exactly changed?

Blog Rush
If you haven’t heard of Blog Rush before, please read my blog post :

One biggest change is the new layout and improved reporting capability. It looks clean and is much easier to navigate now, with all the important stats displayed on the front page itself in flash-based charts that look really good. Several other cosmetic changes were also done to the profile area, widget code area and the “My Blogs” area.

One the main page itself, you’ll see a new impression and clicks statistics for each individual blog post. This is incredible! I liked the icons used to represent popularity of a blog post very much:

Blogrush Icon

Now you can see which posts get the most clicks, and the actual CTR or Click-through Rate.

The question of whether it’s worth putting the BlogRush widget on your site or not is still not answered. The space used to display the widget is important real-estate on any blog, and you can use it to sell ads, display user-based functions like the top commentators, or promote an affiliate program.

I think we still need sometime to tell whether it works or not. However, honestly, i am quite impressed with Phase 2, and very positive about the next phases. Will keep you updated about my observations on Blog Rush. Don’t forget to stay tuned with my RSS feeds.

To say BlogRush has been a huge disappointment overall is an understatement.

Personally, I feel it has over-promised and under-delivered. Perhaps it had raised users expectations to such heights during the prelaunched that people can’t help but feel disappointed of the subsequent results.

Firstly, the site went down for nearly a month as they did a manual review of all blogs in their network to take out those that don’t meet their quality criterias.

Now that Phase 2 is up and running, it is basically the same result as before, just changing to a newer dashboard and reporting format. Ultimately, users will look at the amount of traffic the widget can help bring to their sites.

I agree with first comment. And while I still keep the widget on my blog - its about to go away. Performance is less then sub par and I actually don’t see much of value from it while loosing a VERY valuable space on blog ..

Nice artile

I’m holding out with a wait and see attitude. I like the idea of Blog Rush, and will give it a bit more time to produce. But like the others said, it is taking up valuable space on my blog.

Personally I dropped Blog Rush for good at the beginning of this month. A few days after phase 2 came out. Once I realized that phase 2 was simply more hype packaged a little nicer I decided to cut and run

I made a quick research on Technorati about BlogRush reactions, and I heard/read black and white stories: It’s either useful or useless to bloggers. BlogRush sent me a few readers that remained loyal to my site. After the Phase 2 launch, the traffic and click-through-rate were below par, as I stated in my blogrush post.

Something interesting happened after I posted that entry. I am just waiting and will post the results on BZ next week.

Hi Betshopboy, thanks for your comment. I somewhat agree with you. I recently discovered Blogging Zoom which drives far better traffic than Blog Rush. I suggest you to read my blog post about it.
